DECK AND CONTROLLER / CURRENT NOTE
ReStory on Steam Deck: what works, what is partial
The safe answer is a support-status boundary, not a made-up perfect controller map.

SHORT ANSWER
Start here
ReStory launched as Playable on Steam Deck, not Verified. tinyBuild currently describes controller support as partial and the Deck/Linux path as Proton compatibility. Expect some pointer-heavy repair actions to need Steam Input or trackpad adjustments.
PRE-FLIGHT / 02
Before you change anything
- Launch through the standard Steam compatibility path.
- Keep the default layout available so you can revert.
- Test one repair action at a time: point, drag, rotate and right-click.
PROCEDURE / 03
Run the diagnostic in order
- 01
Start from the official boundary
Treat Playable and partial controller support as the baseline. Do not expect a Verified experience.
- 02
Name the failed action
Identify whether the problem is cursor speed, dragging, rotation, right-click or another pointer action.
- 03
Adjust only the missing action
Use Steam Input to map the specific mouse action to a trackpad, trigger or stick. Avoid replacing the whole layout before you know the failing input.
- 04
Re-test on the workbench
Open a low-risk device and confirm point, drag and rotate before continuing a customer order.
